What Will My Visit With Dr. Chan Be Like?
As a licensed naturopathic physician, Dr. Chan’s goal during the initial visit is to identify what your health concerns are and to establish a treatment plan to achieve the best results. To do this, Dr. Chan will be asking you several questions and listening to your health history, followed by doing any relevant physical assessment in the clinic. In many ways, your office visit will be similar to what you have experienced when seeing your family doctor. The main difference, however, is that Dr. Chan will be looking beyond your symptoms to find the cause of the problem and stimulate your body’s natural ability to heal.
Dr. Chan’s Approach
Health is about being able to function to your body’s potential. Dr. Chan uses an integrated medicine approach that works to address nutritional deficiencies, structural injuries, allergies and toxicities, and mental-emotional well-being to restore health. Because each patient is unique, Dr. Chan will put the time and effort in to understand the individual factors that are impacting your health. Only then will you be able to work together to come up with a personalized treatment plan that has the greatest chance of success.
What Can I Do To Help
The thing that will help the most is to be early for your appointment. Please try to show up about 20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to fill in your patient intake form as completely as possible. Also, the more information that Dr. Chan has to work with, the better. So, If you have any past blood test results or x-ray reports, etc., it can be helpful to bring them along as well. If you don’t have any of this information, don’t worry because Dr. Chan will be doing his own examination and assessment anyway.
